If you have packet loss it wouldnt matter the ping.

Yeah well I looked at a few of the tracert's on the other page and I wasn't seeing any timeouts.. but yeah packet loss is the major annoying factor although higher pings can be a factor as well.

In those particualr tracert's you posted, it wasn't getting past the first hop, which is your router. If you were still playing, then you must have just had like 95% packet loss or something, meaning a few still got through, and so you could play a little bit, but most would time out.

Because your internet is down.
You will also notice, chat would not update and you wont be able to do any actions, because the page is loaded but can't update with no internet.
If you woild like to test this, feel free to log into rwk and then disconect the line from your modem to your router. Will get the same results. |

i already said that i WAS online at the time of the tracert and chat was updating, so no, my internet was not down. my internet works just fine, and is on and active when i make my tracerts.

I'm pretty sure I would know how to read a tracert and reason why you get nothing but time outs, mkay. So if chat did refresh at all then your internet must of came back, got one packet, then back out. if next time its happening you want to tracert google.com. you will get the same result.

From the tracert you can see your computer is talking to your router, and then nothing else. After hitting the router it should then hit your local ISP and then regional and then on its pathway to the server. Your issue is between your router and your modem/ISP. If your router has the feature you may be able to try a tracert from it and see what it says.

Kind of interesting, it's 2:00 PM EDT 31 Jul 09 and the two servers are showing very different behavior. Server 1 is lagging badly with many players complaining, but Server 2 seems just fine. Same number of hops to both but interestingly enough with more timeouts to S2, none of the responding routers show a terribly high ping. I imagine both servers are at the same location so could the slowness be specific to the hardware hosting S1? Tracerts for both are below:
