Default No IRL Money Transactions

Trading in-game items for IRL money is against the ToU. Posting such requests in-game or on the forums will result in first a warning, then a ban.

I've been advocating for this for yeaaars now. (2 to be fair).

However, there's nothing explicitly in TOU that stipulates its bannable. There is the below:
"Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose."
Selling stuff in game for out of game items isn't inherently a business, explicitly not implicitly. So there is NOTHING in TOU as of now to this effect.
The next closest phrase I could find is below on the info page;
"Can I trade RWK stuff for other stuff?

You are not allowed to trade RWK items for items in other games. You are not allowed to do any trading outside of the built-in game trading unless you have templar."

Now to this effect the only rule for sale of out of game items including currency (since its not explicitly ruled out anywhere YET), is that a char has templar.

The only rule for IRL exchanges is accounts/chars/toons which you have mentioned is lax but subject to stricter response.

I suggest that if your NEW stance is ALL IRL money transactions are a no no, you introduce it as such (new rule who dis). Rather than saying it's enforcing an "existing" non-existant rule.

Thanks dude!!

FAQ was updated:
"You are not allowed to trade RWK items for items in other games or anything of monetary value. See the ToU linked below."

ToU line added for clarity:
"[you will not:] -Attempt to barter accounts, account settings, permissions, accessories, upgrades, enhancements, items, assets, etc. for anything which has monetary value or for anything outside of the game itself."

So this being said, are you gonna l introduce micro transactions for noobs to advance fast or anything else? The secondary market has provided a gateway for that.

Next up, how actively are you tracking this? And did you see my email?

Jeff, can we get some background information on this change? The RWK real-world currency market has been a reality for a long time and this is a drastic change for no visible reason. It has a serious impact on how the market operates and how players progress through the game. From our position, this change has come out of left field.

Cheers.

We live in a society. In that society there are ever-growing legal grey areas. You either have a multi-million dollar legal team behind you, or you stay out of the grey. We don't have the former, so we pick the latter.
