Default Banned Player Auctions

I've seen this in a few other games, and it's pretty interesting so i figured i'd drop a suggestion here to see if something like this could actually happen

When a character gets banned it falls into a pool
1 year after the ban, if not repealed it get set up for an auction that happens once per month, or bi-monthly, however you would want to set the timeframe
Account associated with scamming are ineligible for obvious reasons

Only the Name, Server, Level, and Class of the account is mentioned
No word on gear, quest items, gold, anything
base price is the same across all accounts
Upon someone winning the auction they are given the chance to name swap the account (since some names are tied to bad memories)

this brings in Revenue for Glitchless
enables seasoned players to gamble for relics or just spare toons
newer players get a chance at getting new (to them) toons to play with
easier class exploration
Or just to attempt to score big with relics and whatnot

Just an idea, i don't expect it to happen but i think it would be something really cool to see

Fundamentally I disagree with this proposition.

When a character is banned, it's because the character was doing something wrong.

If a scammer, is it fair to auction off someone's ill gotten gains? It is essentially rubbing it in the face of the people the items were stolen from.

If this were implemented, there is no way to prevent a banned player from submitting their knowledge to another player so they can buy the items. In current times, and given the current player pool, it is easy to ascertain that most people have contact with at least one other player on social media.

This gives an unfair advantage.

Finally I'd like to close my argument with saying this is just a retarded idea.

i dont like this, because i can look at the banned list and see at least 10 accounts i know of with suits, and would just game the system with team-mates to low ball the purchase or group up on spending the money to diverisfy the assets.

Banned players should remain banned, and their gear off the market, its the only thing that actually helps stabilize the economy a bit in the situation of a ban wave (power shifts etc).

Someone didn't bother to read this. Yes the banned player can't participate, but what's to stop him/her/it from telling another person "Hey all my good stuff is on Anubis, bid on it pass me the items and you can keep the char"

i'm talking about the toons involved with scamming, they will not be available for the auctions
only toons banned due to other reasons IE: failed SC, bug abuse, etc...

Nothing stops that, but that's also why you put a time lapse to when the accounts are put up for auction..... i know there's a ton from over 14 years ago banned for a few different reasons and i'm more then sure 95% of the community have no idea what is on them
not every single player banned just turns around and makes more accounts, actually very few do
